Andy Stern is the former president of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU). Under his tenure they grew by over a million workers and became the largest political action committee in the United States. He is now Senior Fellow at the Economic Security Project.
Stern has been featured on 60 Minutes and CNN, as Fox News Power Player of the Week and on the covers of the New York Times Magazine, Fortune, and Businessweek. CBS News described him as the "most important labor boss in America."
President Obama appointed Stern to the National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform (AKA Simpson-Bowles). He has been called one of the chief architects of healthcare reform, and is considered one of the most powerful people in healthcare.
He is also the author of two books: A Country That Works and Raising the Floor: How a Universal Basic Income Can Renew Our Economy and Rebuild the American Dream.
